InstaDomain is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following information as part of the domain registration process:

• Registrant contact information -- your name, email address, physical address, and phone number. This is required by ICANN for all domain registrations.
• Organization name -- if provided during registration.
• Payment information -- processed by Stripe. We do not receive, store, or have access to your credit card number, bank account details, or other payment credentials.
• Domain purchase history -- the domains you register, order IDs, transaction amounts, and related metadata.
• Crypto wallet addresses -- if you pay via USDC/x402, we record the payer address and transaction hash for refund and audit purposes.

2. Why We Collect This Data

• ICANN compliance -- ICANN requires registrant contact information for all domain registrations. We cannot register a domain without it.
• Service delivery -- to process your order, register your domain, configure DNS, and provide ongoing support.
• Payment processing -- to complete transactions and handle refunds when registration fails.
• Legal and tax compliance -- to maintain records required by applicable law.

3. Who We Share Data With

We share your information only with the parties required to deliver the service:

• OpenSRS / Tucows Inc. -- the ICANN-accredited registrar that processes domain registrations. Your registrant contact information is shared with OpenSRS as required for registration.
• Cloudflare -- the DNS hosting provider. Your domain name is shared with Cloudflare to set up DNS zones.
• Stripe -- the payment processor. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.
• ICANN -- as required by ICANN policy, certain registrant data may be shared with or accessible to ICANN.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any other third parties for marketing or any other purpose.

4. WHOIS Privacy

All domain registrations include WHOIS privacy protection by default where supported by the TLD registry. This means your personal contact information is hidden from public WHOIS lookups and replaced with proxy information. You may request removal of WHOIS privacy at any time.

5. Data Retention

Order records and registrant contact data are retained for the life of the domain registration plus 1 year after the domain expires or is transferred away. This retention period is necessary to comply with registrar obligations, handle disputes, and support transfers.

You may request deletion of your data after your domain has expired or been transferred to another registrar. Certain records may be retained longer if required by law.

6. Tracking and Analytics

InstaDomain does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics services, or any other form of user tracking beyond what is necessary for service operation. We do not fingerprint browsers or devices. There is no third-party analytics code on our pages.

7. GDPR Rights (European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

• Right to access -- request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification -- request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Right to erasure -- request deletion of your personal data, subject to ICANN registrant data requirements and legal retention obligations.
• Right to data portability -- request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

8. CCPA Rights (California Residents)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

• Right to know -- request information about what personal data we collect, use, and share.
